The Motor Control Warehouse was created in 2006 by three variable speed drives engineers. The company specializes in supplying motor speed control products and systems to the control and automation market within the UK and Europe.

MCW design and build custom control panels for a variety of industrial automation projects. These panels range from the relatively simple control system to the more complex fully automated, HMI - PLC controlled turnkey automated process control systems.

Based amongst the rolling hills of central Wales, we are looking for a software engineer to join our design team.

The role –

Responsible for the creation and management of the software element of control system type projects, covering a broad spectrum of size and complexity. Working as part of a highly skilled engineering design team at our head office in Mid Wales.

Qualifications and experience:

  • BSc/BEng degree or higher in Software Engineering, Control & Automation, Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or similar.
  • Practical software engineering experience with PLC coding, HMI integration and variable speed drive coms.
  • Experience using structured text (ST) or C programming languages.
  • A general understanding of control and automation projects.
  • A general understanding of inverter drives and motor speed control products.

The following skills would be an advantage:

  • Experience working with Schneider HMIs and PLCs.
  • Industry 4.0 (IOT) solutions
  • CODESYS based programming platform.

The opportunity to learn and grow your skill set while working within an experienced design team on a range of interesting automation projects would be available. Some customer interface via telephone, email, MS Teams and face to face would form part of the role.

Normal working hours would be 8.00am to 4.30pm, 5 days per week with a generous remuneration package available, based on experience and qualification.

Motor Control Warehouse is one of Wales’ leading suppliers of AC Inverter Drives, AC motors, gearboxes and associated components, with a turnover in excess of £4M/annum.

Due to continued growth, Motor Control Warehouse have the following job vacancies available to work alongside our existing team of panel builders:

 

Electrical Panel Build Technician:

Requirements:

    Hard working

    Willing to learn

    Attention to detail

    Computer literate- basic computer skills required

    Work under minimal supervision with good self-time management

Desirable:

    Previous experience in electrical panel wiring/building or other electrical discipline

    Ability to read and follow electrical wiring diagrams and schematics

    C&G 17th Edition, C&G Inspection and Test

    Clean driving license

 

The successful candidate would have the opportunity to gain qualifications associated with the position.

40 hours per week plus overtime as required.
