Specifications:

When start button is pressed (providing the Emergency Stop button is not pressed) the star-delta contactors will initiate starting the motor.

When stop button is pressed, the star-delta contactors will open and the motor will ‘coast to a stop'

When e-stop button is pressed the star-delta contactors will open and the motor will ‘coast to a stop’. This is a twist release button and can be locked in the “in” position.

QStart Star Delta Starter Trip Class

The MCW QStart star-delta starters are fitted with a Trip Class 10 thermal overload relay as standard, which is suitable for the majority of light to medium industrial load applications.

Trip Class by Application Chart

The MCW Enclosed Start Delta Starter range is not recommended for applications with extremely heavy starting loads exceeding 20 seconds or for handling very high inertia loads like high inertia fans, centrifuges, or loaded crushers. To address specific application needs, we encourage you to reach out to one of our team members for a tailored discussion.

It's important to note that initiating the MCW Enclosed Star Delta Starters more frequently than once every 10 minutes will adjust the thermal overload tripping behavior, causing quicker overload trips for a given thermal overload current setting.

Trip Class Explained

At 600% of the maximum current rating of the motor the Trip Class 10 unit will trip in 10 seconds or less, Trip Class 20 will trip in 20 seconds or less, and Trip Class 30 will trip in 30 seconds or less.
