Q: Differences between Swift Start Lite, Swift Start Classic, Swift Start Pro Safe Enclosed inverter drives?

A: The range of, off the shelf enclosed inverters from MCW, cover most basic industrial applications between them. They offer a cost effective basic model, the Swift Star Lite, the Swift Start Classic which offers more features and control and the Swift Start Pro Safe which contains built in safety features and a SIL2 E-Stop system as standard.

Swift Start Lite - Designed for ease of operation, robust, reliable simple motor control in a powder coated steel, IP54 enclosure. With start and stop buttons also mains isolator. Mode of operation, when start button is pressed, the inverter will start and ramp up to the speed set in parameter P00.16. When stop button is pressed, the inverter will ramp to a stop.

Swift Start Classic - All the features and control of the Lite with extra. The Swift Strt Classic adds an exteranally mounted speed pot, fwd/rev switch, inverter disable button and inducator lamps. Just as robust and reliable as the Lite. Mode of operation, When start button is pressed (providing the inverter disable button is not pressed), the inverter will start and ramp up to the speed set by the speed potentiometer. When stop button is pressed, the inverter will ramp to a stop. Potentiometer controls the inverter output speed. Fwd/Rev Switch controls the direction of the motor. Forward is clockwise and reverse is anti-clockwise. Inverter Disable Button disables the output of the drive, and the motor will coast to a stop. (This is not an Emergency Stop button and should not be used for safety isolation.) Healthy lamp will be illuminated when the SSC inverter is in the healthy state (not tripped). Running lamp will be illuminated when the SSC inverter is running (inverter output enabled).

Swift Start Pro Safe - The Swift Start Pro Safe has all the control and Features of the Classic, but adds an industrially recognised (SIL2) emergency stop system. This can be useful if controling an application that needs a reliable E-Stop circuit such as a conveyor. The inverter drive within the Pro Safe also offer more features and higher performance which can be used if needed. Mode of operation, When start button is pressed (providing the Emergency Stop button is not pressed and the blue reset button has been pressed), the inverter will start and ramp up to the speed set by the speed potentiometer. When stop button is pressed, the inverter will ramp to a stop. Potentiometer controls the inverter output speed. Fwd/Rev Switch controls the direction of the motor. Forward is clockwise and reverse is anti-clockwise. Emergency Stop Button removes power from the drive via the safety contactor and disables the drives STO, monitored by safety relay. Healthy lamp will be illuminated when the inverter is in the healthy state (not tripped). Running lamp will be illuminated when the inverter is running (inverter output enabled). This product is compatible with Invertek's range of option modules, by adding in an encoder module this product is capable of closed loop speed control.
